Lodge Cookware Reviews
Lodge cast iron cookware are made with the least amount of technology required, they incorporate the classic cast iron method to create their cookware. Cast iron is a very durable form of iron, having a strong resistance against physical pressure and rust, it makes very affordable and durable cookware, but one problem with cast iron is that it weighs heavier than other metals.
Cast iron has a very heat absorbing property, but the heat is not dispersed randomly, it is spread out evenly providing a better cooking process. The handles on these Lodge cookware are not meant to be grabbed on bare handed, mittens are a must to avoid burns and unnecessary pain.
Lodge cookware does not require any seasoning for the iron like old cookware do, as they come out of the factory pre seasoned, this gives them a less sticky surface for cooking, but if you accidentally tear off or wear off this layer while cooking you always have the option to season it yourself by using any form of oil or fats. Seasoning a pan is hard work and washing them in a dishwasher will instantly remove any traces of seasoning and expose the bare metal to oxidation and other elements causing it to rust and turn into the worst piece of cookware you can have.
These skillets are also vegetarian friendly since Lodge skillets are seasoned with vegetable oils instead of the regular animal fats.

The seasoning also adds a no rust surface, but the downside would be the effort you need to take to maintain the condition of this layer. To maintain the seasoned nonstick surface it is recommended not to wash your wok.
